A lot of people have asked me how I stayed on Noel Edmonds’ television show for so long. The story of my time on “Noel’s House Party” (1994-1997) is the story of how someone can be totally unprepared for a situation, and yet still exploit the opportunity it provides.
I was hired to appear in the first episode of the first series because I was already a personal friend of Noel’s, and so we had a good rapport. But I had no experience as an actor or television presenter, and within a few weeks I realized I wasn’t going to be able to do this job. It was just too much for me.
But rather than quit, which would have been the sensible thing to do, I stayed on the show for three years, doing my best to make sure that each week would be better than the last. I learned things about television by watching Noel and his associates work. And by working with them, I learned how TV shows are made.
How Old Is Noel Edmonds
I am pretty sure Noel Edmonds is 63 years old, but I can’t be certain. Turns out it’s a bit tricky to work out someone’s age if all you know about them is their name and that they’re on television.
Thing is, I’m not really interested in Noel Edmonds’s age. Asking “How old is Noel Edmonds?” is like asking “How many legs does a dog have?” or “How long is a piece of string?” You don’t really need to know.
But you do need to know how old Noel Edmonds is, if you are writing to him asking for a discount on car insurance or something.
Noel Edmonds Spouse
Noel Edmunds is a British TV presenter who has been on the box for decades, in shows such as Noel’s House Party and Deal or No Deal. His wife, whom he met at school, died of cancer in 2015. He was the main carer for their kids when she was alive.
Chances are you will be familiar with some of his catchphrases such as “Cool!” and “Oh no it isn’t!”, but he has others that are not so well known. For example, he refers to a female celebrity as “The Lovely”.
He is one of those people who has always been in show business. He started as a child actor and also appeared alongside his father in a double act called The Singing Kettles. He then moved into presenting when he got older and his career really took off when he hosted Noel’s House Party in 1990.
He has been married twice, once to his childhood sweetheart and once to former model Debbie McGee (right). They met during auditions for a pantomime production of Jack and the Beanstalk, which they won roles in together.
